Green Card filing for parent in USA or Abroad?!

Hey Visa Journey!!

So, long story short I’m a U.S citizen and my mom from  Canada would like me to file for to get her Green Card. Now my question is she is already here in the U.S on an extended trip for a few months. Could we do the (I-130) petition and AOS forms here so she doesn’t have to go back? Or would it be best for her to return to Canada and wait to be interviewed at the consulate in Canada? From research I’ve seen the process is faster when filing for parents who are already in the USA. Answers are much appreciated!!
