Oh. Then it sounds like that's your answer and you need to start from scratch. And you didn't apply for the re-entry permit before you left the US? Covid wouldn't have been a valid reason for not returning, green card holders could still enter the US then, and you should have been filing taxes.

 

As @OldUser has asked above, how did you enter the US last year?

A B or the VWP, a B normally needs a I 407

Then, it's over.  Start from scratch.   If you had the expired 10 year Green Card, you could have boarded a plane and traveled to the border to make your case.  It is a long shot, but you could file an I-90 in an attempt to renew and replace your Green Card......a long shot.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
