K1 interview date in Ghana

Hi everyone, I just have a brief question and I’m hoping that someone has an answer.

so we received our case number from nvc and it has been sent to the Ghana embassy. On Ceac, it says ready. I’m just curious on the next steps. Do we fill out the ds160 then book an interview? Or will the U.S embassy in Ghana reach out to us with instructions?

To schedule a K-1 visa interview in Ghana, you must first register on the AVITS website, complete the DS-160 form, receive your case approval from the National Visa Center (NVC), and then create an account on usvisaappt.com to pay fees and select your interview location and time. After confirmation of your payment and receipt of the email from the U.S. Embassy, you can then proceed to schedule your interview, a mandatory medical examination, and gather the necessary documents.

that is all i could find as the US embassy in Ghana is less than helpful

k1 is not listed in nonimmigrant visas there and says to refer to immigrant site and the K1 is not listed there either

My girlfriend's is going through the process in Ghana. Their case was sent to Embassy in February 2025. July, she was notified to complete DS-160 and paid fees. They received their interview date for August.
