Using Trusted Traveler cards (GE, Nexus, Sentri etc) - field reports

Hi guys,

I'm going to create a thread where I'm going to be posting field reports on using my Global Entry (GE) card  domestically and internationally.

Sure, this ID should be universally accepted in the US anywhere, even to enter federal facilities and cross border with Mexico and Canada by land.

However, we all know sometimes clerks and other people make mistakes and reject to accept one form of ID or the other.

Feel free contributing to this thread.

Below is what GE card looks like in September 2025:

Other cards like Nexus and Sentri look similar just with different title on the card.

Global Entry is available to US citizens, LPRs and citizens of select countries (UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Mexico etc - list is here). Global Entry card is only given to US citizens and LPRs.

MM/YYYY: August 2024

Location: Florida, US

Business / organization: Walmart+ Delivery

Check type: Age verification

Reason: Alcohol Delivery

Result: Success

Details: Got some alcohol delivered to a hotel I was staying at. Walmart delivery driver (who was actually a Instacart driver, apparently that's who walmart contracted out to for this area) was able to scan the machine readable digits on the back of my Nexus ID with their app, which treated it like a passport. Looking at their screen while it happened it looks like Instacart app uses the Scandit mobile SDK, which indeed can scan TTP cards in my testing (and checking the Scandit website just now it shows Instacarts logo, so I dare say that's accurate).
