K1 or cr1

Quick marriages are the norm in South Asia so it may not be as bad as it seems. I would do CR-1.  What if you do K-1 then Pakistan is added to the ban list?  Then only CR-1 would work and the time waiting on the I-129F would be wasted.  CR-1 takes longer but is a better visa as described above.  But CR-1 will take 2 to 3 years.  K-1 would be 1 to 2 years.  But that’s assuming things stay as they are now.

 I met a Pakistani guy online in march and fell in love a few months later. We are now dating long distance of course but we are planning to meet in January I was already going to Egypt and invited him to tag along. 
 

Some background information 

we are both Christians

I’ve been married twice and have 2 children I’m in the middle of a divorce and it will be finalized before meeting in January.

 

both of our families approve 

 

now that we are actively planning a future together which visa route will be best for us if we decide to go that route k1 or cr1?

I think so. The point about Pakistan being added to the banned list is a good one, it would be awful for that to happen if you’d done a K-1.
 

But I wouldn’t marry after just one visit, plan a couple at least and then try and get more time together whilst the I-130 is being processed so that you have plenty of evidence for the interview.
