Hey everyone

so I’m in Canada, my fiancé is in texas

I am considering traveling down on a temporary visit get married and then return to Canada and then proceed with the adjustment of status process while being abroad 

my question is when can I return and reside in the states while the adjustment of status is processing is it during the I-130 process or after? 
and any tips to go about this route for a cr1?

You won’t be applying via adjustment of status. That’s a different thing.

You can’t move to the US until you have your visa, although you can continue to visit whilst it’s processed.

You can get married but must return to Canada after your authorized time. You would have your interview in Montreal.

To be clear, you cannot adjust status from outside the USA.  Marrying and going back to Canada is just fine, but you would be pursuing an immigrant visa, not adjusting status.  The process starts when the US Citizen files a petition in your behalf.  When that petition is approved, you are invited to apply for a visa.  The visa decision is made after you interview in Montreal.
