Hi, I'm preparing our I-130 for our upcoming interview for DCF in Bangkok.

I'm a naturalized U.S. citizen. How do I respond to question 38 if I'm unable find my original certificate of naturalization. It's $555 for a duplicate.

Do I need it if I hold a current U.S. passport?

If I don't need it how do I answer the question?

A valid U.S. passport should suffice to prove your USC status.  That being said, for question 38, you have to answer yes since you did receive a CoN, but if you don’t have it, or lost it, I would put “unknown” for the number, and if you don’t remember place or date of your oath ceremony, you can put the same there.

Good Luck!

With the help of a strong magnifying glass we retrieved the number. 😀

Hi everyone,

We have an appointment with the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok in September to file the I-130 and I-130a.

Does anybody have a list for the documents required for the initial I-130 submission and interview when applying via DCF in Bangkok?

I'll have the job offer letter, the I-130 and I-130a, photographs, translated marriage certificate and divorce papers

What else do we need?

Thank you.

I’m surprised you haven’t been sent a document checklist, but for now just take everything on the list for a normal spouse visa - make sure you check the country specific section too.

In addition to what @appleblossom provided, there's probably a note on the NOA in small print (may need that magnifying glass again!) that lists what to bring.  It may be on the back side of the page.
