Am I correct in seeing that for those of us who did consular processing we are more likely to get a biometrics appointment?  Seems to be the case based on other filers in the last few months?

It's hard to know, honestly. There's been cases on VJ when person had to do biometrics at every stage without particular reason why.

Internal policies are always shift at USCIS. Not so long ago majority of I-751 filers has their interviews waived, now it seems like a lot more get interviews. Same can happen with biometrics. Nobody can reliably predict who's going to need to go for biometrics, and whose is going to be reused.

I always assumed the worst for my case: needing to go to appointment and having interview. I was glad when neither happened :)

Thanks.  We expect the unexpected and hope for the best.

I was wondering the same thing!  We did consular processing for our I-130 and my LPR husband also did Global Entry recently. But, guess we will just see what happens!

Global Entry has nothing to do with biometrics for USCIS.

I was a GE member at the time I got scheduled for AOS biometrics.

07/08 - Mailed via USPS to Phoenix AZ

07/10 - Delivered

07/14 - Text received today with Case number

07/15 - Check cashed & partial scan on account

07/16 - Receipt notice available online.  Case is at NBC.

No biometrics re-use notice or otherwise yet.

07/18 Biometrics appointment recieved for 08/07.

But I have an issue, I have a very important medical appointment at that time in a city 30mins away, and I have waited for this appointment since March. 😭 It is literally the only time I am struggling with. I don't want to miss the medical appointment as it could set me back another 5 months.

Can I try to reschedule the Biometrics?

Medical appointment is a valid reason to reschedule. However, before you do that, have you considered showing early for your biometrics? E.g. many VJ folks had success going to biometrics appointment few days early. Just bring the letter and ID.

I hadn't considered going early and trying. Is that better than rescheduling?

Well, it allowed me to reschedule online, so I selected Monday at 10am since I am off work anyway.  It says I need to take the reschedule notice which I'll get in 1-2 business days, which is too late for Monday I guess, so I will print out the confirmation screen online and try my luck 🤷‍♀️

Do you need the mailed biometrics appointment letter or you can just print the one in your online portal?
