We submitted our I-129F with a Chinese passport copy but since I am getting my Hong Kong passport soon and I would like to use my Hong Kong passport for the DS160 Filing and attend the interview with it cause I want to travel with my Hong Kong passport.

Both passports state 'CHINESE' as my nationality, my name and DOB are all the same. Do you guys know if there will be any issues if I switch passport mid-process in this regard?

Normally I would say that that is no issue, but that is based on passports from the same origin (I know HKG is part of PRC but I'm not sure how the state department views that). You may want to try and email the consulate/state department and see if they will give you an answer.

You can keep using your current passport (No idea how much of an issue that is for you) and have the visa put in that. Than get your HKG passport and when they void your old passport make sure they don't damage the K1 visa.

When you present your visa, they scan/read that. The passport it's in does not have to be valid. (done that myself several times)

You can roll the dice and just change it. If the HKG is viewed as a Chinese passport by the US it's no different then when people get a new passport. You can wait till the interview to present the new one and they'll update the DS-160 details right there.

But most importantly make sure the US views a HKG passport as a PRC passport.
