My fiancé wasn’t granted her CFO certificate because they asked for my FBI clearance, I was able to get it pretty quickly on fbi.gov after submitting my fingerprints at the USPS. I scanned my FBI background because I have been arrested in the past also my police arrest records from my city police department. There’s three incidences on there the last one being in 2007 and nothing that would cause a red flag. Her counselor was very rude and judgmental towards me telling her that she doesn’t really know me. The counselor wants her to email her my records, but told her that it will take weeks to get and anything that is obtained within a couple of days is fake, which is not true. She emailed the documents one week ago. I just got a response yesterday saying please send FBI clearance so I’m not sure if she sent the email correctly because she is familiar with computers. I feel like I want to email this lady and send her the documents myself explaining that all cases are closed and from a long time ago and no problems since 2007 but I’m worried that it will affect her ego and make her angry. Has anybody experienced this kind of situation we are both very stressed because we have gone through the process and now at the finish line the CFO is a big problem.

Never heard of CFO asking for FBI clearance.  How did they know you had been arrested?  Just get the email address and send it directly and CC your fiance email address.

I am an American, I have been arrested a few time, I wasn't even aware a person could get a FBI clearance, nor heard of it nor ever needed it for anything. I have sent my fingerprints in for Concealed Handgun license in the past, and heard FBI runs your prints.

Worse comes to worse, just reschedule her at another location, I thought they did CFO now in Cebu as well as Manila.

There have been several reports lately of CFO asking for FBI clearance of the petitioner ever since that Filipina got killed by her husband in Europe somewhere 6 or 7 months ago. It seems to be at the whim of the CFO counselor rather than an official policy. I would get the email address and email it directly and CC your fiancée. I would also take a screenshot of the online instructions on the FBI website for getting the clearance where it specifically says that the clearance is usually emailed to you within 48 hours if you do the digital fingerprinting at the USPS. That should hopefully shut down the counselor's "anything gotten quickly is fake" BS. Let us know how it goes and good luck. Jaycel had a real peach of a counselor in Cebu who basically warned her that I was either going to murder her, cheat on her constantly or abandon her here in the US. 🤪

Interesting to know about people being asked now of days for FBI Clearance and reason.

I have always wanted to find way to avoid CFO to leave Philippines. I have even heard of some girls going on a trip with their Forgein boyfriend out of PHilippines like to Thailand and they want them to do CFO.

It won’t let her schedule another appointment, we have to wait for the counselor that interviewed her to email her back and the counselor can only schedule another appointment, so our lives are in the hands of this judgmental B——! We sent the documents over 1 week ago and still no reply

She told my lady “ you don’t really know him” talked down about foreign people and told horror stories, very judgmental and unprofessional! And they should also add on their website that they request an FBI clearance as one of the documents needed! This whole thing is a joke and putting a strain on a relationship and plans

Yes, she stuck to her guns, was calm, respectful but very insistent that she knew me very well and would not be going to a different country to marry someone who she didn't trust 1000%. The counselor finally gave up trying to scare her and let her go. This was before they started asking for FBI / Police clearances so if she had asked, we wouldn't have had one and I'm sure she would have denied her pending me getting one to her.

Keep us posted, I have never heard of anyone not getting a stamp, or sticker or whatever they are giving out these day, I have seen people years ago had to jump thru some hoops, but all eventually got their certificate to leave Philippines.

I saw a new one for CFO posted in a Facebook group recently. The CFO counselor was demanding, in writing, a screenshot of the of the visa recipient having a video chat with her husband's family.

Just one more reason that a spouse visa is superior. They are much harder on fiance's

I’ve been working on this K-1 for over 1 year, she passed her interview and has her visa I don’t see how these CFO people can hold her hostage, she’s a grown adult woman and should have the right to make her own decisions rather then some stranger who doesn’t know anything about her, I or our relationship! CFO is garbage
