My husband's I-485 was denied last year due to an uploading error on the USCIS platform in May 2024.  We filed a new I-485 application and concurrently filed an appeal.  In August 2024 we won our appeal and my husband's green card was approved November 2024, based on our original I-485 application.  I never withdrew our second I-485 application, assuming that the officer who looked at it would see my husband's original I-485 was already approved.

 

Today I received a notice that my husband's I-485 interview has been scheduled and he needs to appear at the interview on June 30th.  Has anyone else experienced this situation before?  I plan to formally withdraw the second I-485 application before the interview date, but wanted to check here for others' experiences before proceeding.

I'd get that thing withdrawn asap.  Imagine the mess it would have created if they had approved the 2nd one without an interview....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
