One month for I-751 as a target? This is an exception, not a rule. Most I-751s take a few years...

NOA1 alone can take 4-8 weeks to get. If you sent it yesterday, you can expect NOA1 sometime in October, maybe by October 10-15.

Got my action taken email and sms around 9pm today. Both NOA1 and bio reuse letters were uploaded, status changed to case being processed.

One question:

The service center in NOA1 is SCOPS TEXAS FACILITY, but the one in bio reuse says YSC (Potomac Service Center). So which service center is processing my case now??? lol

(will ask Emma tomorrow)

Our timeline so far…

Sept 5 - package sent

Sept 8 - package delivered

Sept 16 - NOA1/extension letters + online access codes received

Sept 22 - biometrics scheduling letters received

*Oct 1 - biometrics appointments at our local office

We cross the land border into Mexico frequently, so I’ve gone in and updated the expiration dates on all their Global Entry accounts. Today is the day my husband’s card expires, so our next trip across (probably later this week) will be the first time carrying the extension letter - will report back!

My main concern regarding the packet was my stepdaughter’s citation for possession of paraphernalia. I’m happy to report that she has since been to court and was put in a youth diversion program (no plea, no conviction). As long as she’s good for 90 days, the charge will be completely wiped from her record, and we can send in that documentation to USCIS when we have it.

Looks like we are on your heels ... Received an SMS and Email last night that action was taken ...
myUSCIS shows only receipt notice being sent (dated online as 9/19/25 but email was 9/22/25)
Card was charged this AM 9/23/25
Maybe we get lucky with NOA and Bio Reuse as well.

(and everything done far faster than @OldUser says is normal.  Dare to dream)

I'm curious about the decision to reuse biometrics or not... Is there any rhyme or reason for scheduling for new biometrics vs. reusing old ones?

I would assume it is because my most recent biometrics data was collected for I-485 in 2023. So it’s pretty new.

Yeah my husband and stepdaughters had theirs done in September 2023, which seemed pretty recent to me. But maybe it's just an arbitrary decision.

No, some people get randomly selected. More nowadays than before.... Before COVID everybody went to do biometrics. Reuse was introduced because of the pandemic. Now we're switching back it seems

Just got the SMS and checked online.
48 Month Extension Uploaded, Biometrics Reuse Uploaded, and case is now in "Still Processing" state (for the first time) ...

NOA1 is SCOPS TEXAS FACILITY ... Our service Center on the BIO is VSC ... so (@grumpypiggy) lets see if it makes a difference in time.

Yup .... nice to see progress ...

As @grumpypiggy can attest, the K-1s when we were early in the process were nightmarish .... anything immigration seems to take a while but somehow it hurts more when it starts as 8 mo estimate and slides out longer and longer as it goes.  Almost seems easier to be told up front it's forever and let it be surprisingly shorter (even if not crazy short but atleast there is hope that way)
