We have a Request For Evidence for termination of marriage. We have the document here, but are second guessing if we can upload it online or must send hard copies (of a copy).

We did everything online. It seems like we have an option to upload evidence - it says 'respond with evidence', but we obviously don't want to mess this up.

Assuming we do respond online do we still need to send back the letter we received as well? And a cover letter? All in one file?

Thanks for help clearing this up.

The RFE should specify how to submit the response.  Can you post a copy of the instructions (without any personal info)?

The last page of it looks like this. It seems imply it should be mailed in.

However, we got the letter (the RFE) digitally, and the website now has a link to 'respond with evidence'.

Actually I just found this on the USCIS website:

After you file you can use your (online) account to:

  • Get your current case status and the history of your case;
  • Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs);
  • Access every notice we send you; and
  • Send us secure messages and get answers

So that seems to be pretty clear. I've found a few threads here with people saying they did this, so I guess we will see how it goes.

The top of the page you uploaded here says "Cover sheet scanning required".  That refers to an online submission.  You upload or mail.  It's your choice.

Thanks all.

We uploaded the next day, and got a reply right away that it was being processed.

Within 2 days the application has been accepted and now passed on to NVC.

Thanks a lot!
