Don't pay too much mind to it.

The validity can be extended (and usually is) by the consular officer at the time of the interview if your interview is past the date.

If your case has been sent to NVC, you should be able to submit an inquiry to them about your case number. Between 30-60 days after it has been sent to them.

Expiration of the validity date will not affect your getting an interview... If you go to the interview and it is expired, as long as the consular officer doing the interview approves the visa, they will automatically extend the validity date of the NOA2. I would suggest that if it is expired, you bring updated letters of intent to marry to the interview as per the FAM the CO can request updated LOIs if the NOA2 is expired :)

Thank you!, also how long did it took you to receive the NVC letter ? Is it the beneficiary who will receive that or it would be the both of us ?
We're still waiting for it, USCIS site updates that it was March 7 of this year that they sent our case to the NVC and its about 6weeks have passed
we havent receive any NVC letter yet.

Our case was sent to state (you see this tracking the first case number) february 20th, and we got our case number a week and a half into march. So I would send a public inquiry to get your new case number that you use to track your case moving forward. 😃 We sent one a week, making sure we got a reply before we sent the next one, until we got it.

Not that it is that important, the status does not change until they are ready to send it to your embassy and they only do that every other week.

We got our case number through public inquiry.

We waited a month from the day USCIS sent our case to the NVC.

My husband (the beneficiary) received the physical letter from the NVC almost a month after we knew our case was already at the embassy.

You would be better off submitting a public inquiry, the letter is notoriously slow.

Just FYI @Augustjourney2024 don't freak out if they send another NOA2.  We really weren't expecting that because we thought our case was already sitting at NVC; then, two months into the four month validity period, we got ANOTHER one which was startling.  It had reset the dates completely and moved them forward.  Everything else was the same, including the receipt number and the case number, as we verified in a panic with Emma.  Turned out to be a good thing because Jon's interview fell between the new dates.

Hopefully you are spared the complication, but just in case ❤️

Hey, thank you for the heads up! our NOA 2 is valid until June of this year, hopefully the NVC will get through it already. But I will keep in mind the things you said! Thank you very much,

yes the process is in consistent. I recieved notification that our petition was approved and that our package was being sent to NVC on Feb 27th. This was the date listed on the NOA2 that arrived soon thereafter in March.  However, they did not actually transfer the case over to the NVC/DOS until April 3. So now I am waiting about another week and checking the CEAC timelines to see what date range they are currently working on, which is updated each week on Monday.

I had sent an inquiry into the NVC via email, after about a month from recieving the NOA2 and they had not recieved the case. They stated that it is taking 6 to 8 weeks to get the case number, then you can go online and register on their site, pay the fees, etc.

Since the next step will more documentation and affidavit of support, keep us posted. What I am curious about is that I have heard / read two different things. One being that you pay the fees, get a confirmation of reciept, then you can schedule the appointment and that you will send your pacakage (proof of continued relationship, afffidavity, financial records, etc) to your benficiary in their country. The other made it sound like you would be uploading documents prior to sending documents to your fiance'.

I am sure countries have their nuances, it can be very confusing.

There is no upload option in CEAC for K-1 visa applicants. Unless the embassy in Thailand has a separate procedure for uploading documents prior to the interview, your fiancée will bring them to the biometrics appointment/interview.

Hi, I already sent them a public inquiry 4weeks from the date that the USCIS sent our case to NVC, and in less than 48hrs I immediately got a respond. Thank you!
