Is the NOA1 the same thing as the extension letter?

Sorry to start a new topic, but I've seen conflicting reports on this. Does anyone have a definitive answer? Does the receipt mailed when the case is received double as the extension letter? Or does that arrive separately at a later date?

I can give you the definitive answer.

Yes, NOA1 (Notice of Action #1) is the same as I-797, same as extension letter and the same as receipt. All of these terms describe the same letter.

The letter itself should say your green card is extended by 48 months.

You may receive separate letter with code to access your petition online.
