my BF tells this story of her mum who worked in a gas station back home and who is quite the charector.. this older man came in with this gurgley pitiful voice and walked up to the counter and said to the clerk "I got GAAAAS"... My BF's mum was horrified for the man and said " I'm so sorry sir. i'm sure it's painful let me see if we have anything for it" (and turns to look at the over the counter drugs behind the counter... the man repeated "No.. I got GAAAAS..." and the woman was trying to spare him from more embarrasment and said "now sir.. i am looking.. i'll help you".. He kept repeating "I got GAAAASSS" until one of the co-workers stepped in and rang up his pump and showed my BF's mum.. HA HA!!!

Crokenole!! Another game I ABSOLUTELY love!!!

Crokenole! Another cottage game! My fingers still hurt. :dead:

I'd have died laughing at the gas guy. After he'd left, of course. I'm sure he waited too.

This is truly one of the best games.. we had crokenole parties back home - we'd set up 4-5 tables and you'd keep circulating around in a round robin style tournament.. it was awesome! :)

Hubby & I taught ourselves backgammon again last night - that was a good way to unwind from the crazy day.. He kicked my butt though.. that wasn't so much fun..

WHYYY can't guys let us win SOMETIMES?

Backgammon's fun. I like Scrabble. And cribbage. Which reminds me.... I haven't played crib in ages. I need a board.

I hate it when people let me win. There's no challenge. Takes all the fun out of it. lol

15-2 15-4 15-6 -15-8 and a pair is 10 I win yay!

I have no idea what Crokenole is?

Oh and if anyone is looking for a nice site to play cards at (and yahtzee, word games etc): http://hoylegames.sierra.com/index.jsp

YAHTZEEEE!!!!! (Something I would hear from the bathroom once in a while.)

Thanks for the link. I'll use it. I like playing Chicktionary, Tetris, or doing the Daily Jigsaw. My BIL sent me this site Mousebreaker and says it's full of annoying games.

This is a crokinole board:

Well, it is snowing in Georgia!

Hehehe, for the last half hour big white fluffy flakes have been coming down. Of course the ground is too warm for anything to stick and technically, the temperature reads in the high 30s here, but yes, it is snow! Hehehe, the bad part is that it is supposed to turn to sleet overnight and my husband has to leave early to drive on business 1 1/2 hours south of year tomorrow morning. (he's going to your neck of the woods, Peggy). Sure hope it doesn't sleet and stays snow. No wonder the birds have been going crazy at the feeders all day.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Sounds weird, high 30's and snow!

Is that normal for where you are at this time of year?
