I imagine it depends on which bank is backing the card.  You should be able to use a regular card (Visa, MC, Discover, etc.).

Good Luck!

Just let your bank know that you are making a payment to USCIS so they don't try to block it!

It's worth trying. I wouldn't trust it 100% though. Many banks have advanced AI fraud detection systems. Humans (even security team) often cannot do much about it, or override it until charge actually is attempted and denied. I read when people attempted giving notice to the bank, the person on the call said they did something on the backend, only to find later transaction was declined.

Depends on the bank.  Our bank will notify us either by sending a text to approve or calling before authorizing the transaction when it seems out of the ordinary.  Hubs had a $6000 fraudulent transaction attempt by scammers at BestBuy that the bank called him about to authorize and he's like nope, that is definitely not me!  Online scammers had gotten his card number from somewhere and were trying to buy a TV or something!

Capital One? BoA?

I think at the point of notification to accept / decline, the transaction is already dead in most cases and requires attempting paying again. At least in my experience with those two banks. I cannot say with certainty about others.

I see, I don't think I ever had an alert from them 😅

We've been standing in different international locations and get a text to approve a transaction.  I also have my accounts text me with every transaction so I know when my card has been run.  Call me a skeptical Canadian who's used to table side terminals, but I think American banking is SOOO far behind basically every Western country out there!
