I-864 My income is enough, do we need I-864A for husband (household member)

Hello, I am a US citizen applying for both my parent's green cards. We are at the NVC stage (the i-130s just got approved).

I make enough to sponsor both my parents, so I will be filling out I-864.

My question is is there any reason my husband needs to fill out I-864A? We live in the same household and my husband is very supportive and excited about my parents migration.

But since I have enough income for i-864, do we have to worry about  I-864A as well?

I think if you are the only one sponsoring then you would need to include W2s in addition to tax transcripts to establish how much you make individually (assuming you file jointly).

I think it looks better if you sponsor together. I think it’s more straightforward too, easy to see the correct number on the tax transcript.

Hey I am also from SL. My husband is sponsoring me. May I ask how long it took for the approval of your parents i-130?

Hello, it took us 12 months for I-130 approval.

I was in the similar situation. NVC didn't ask for it. But my mom was asked to send i-864a during interview and this delayed approval for a month. The instruction is confusing and to avoid any trouble, better you fill in 864a.
