Question about citizenship and moving.

I've been wondering, what happens if you become a naturalized US citizen and move back to your home country? I've been considering filing a N400 this year, but I haven't been able to find exactly what happens in this scenario. I know as a long time permanent resident I'd pay an exit tax if I moved back. You have to file taxes/tax forms to the US every year regardless where you live, right? Is there anything else that would happen?

Nothing happens... You will continue to be a US Citizen and you are expected to pay/file taxes at the every year as though you are living in the United States. if you choose to renounce your citizenship, then you are required to file a form with the US Embassy closest to you. I hope this helps

You probably want to naturalize in the US before you go back to your home country if your goal is to keep the option to live in the US without losing status.

 

After that just make sure to pay worldwide taxes to the US and renew US passport on time to avoid delays in future trips.

 

Nothing happens after you become a US citizen, whether you live in the US or elsewhere in the world.

I have another, unrelated question. I'm filling out the N-400 and I technically answer "Yes" to one of the questions under Moral Character - 16 C. I did some volunteering for a nearby Juvenile Hall where I live now, by dropping dogs off to enrich the youth staying in detention (I didn't stay at the center at all, except to watch a graduation ceremony). I've explained it in my documentation with an email chain with the organization. Do you guys think answering yes to that question cause any issues?

You should give the truthful answer, it's not a choice. It would unlikely cause any issues.

I plan to, it was a short volunteer stint so probably not a big deal. My evidence is a bit all over the place (for example the IRS will only give you 3 years of tax return transcripts but I'm sending the last 5 tax returns) but I'm hoping it will be good enough. I filed way too much evidence for my K-1 Visa.

There's no such thing as too much evidence. However, people get RFEs for not enough evidence.
