my job is ending in a few weeks and I am worried I won't be able to find another one that will take me on knowing that I am leaving - I can't not mention it at an interview

Can you pick up some short-term temping work? I know it doesn't tend to pay as much, but any income is better than none! I temped for 2 years and was only out of work for a total of 3.5 weeks in that entire time... the key is being willing to take on whatever assignment they've got going at the agency. Good luck!

And congratulations to the recent approvals - always great to see movement at CSC ^_^

Yeah - I am "short term" temping right now but have been with the company for over six months and have really settled in - my only qualm is I don't want to drive too far as it is a nightmare with traffic through the city and petrol costing as much as it does!!!

I'm on the case - my agency are looking out for me so fingers crossed I won't have to worry too much...

We called CSC twice.. both times they just pretty much "read" the info we could find from our online account.. we were told everything is normal. it can be as long as another 60 days or as soon as 2 days.. and that we can call back again after 60 days.. oh well!

Ok Mercedes called tonight and spoke with a woman who was gruff and unhelpful.

Anyway, get this. They had my address as the one in Oregon. We checked back over our forms and we were correct - we put both our addresses as in Northern Ireland and Mercedes permanent residence in the USA as Oregon and we recieved our NOA1 here in Belfast.

They changed Mercedes' address for her, said we were within timeframe, and that was that!!! Said there was nothing unusual with our case and that they were filing in order.

So, to counteract the negative vibes given off by CSC we spent the last few hours looking at wedding photographers and are gonna book one this weekend before Mercedes leaves for Easter - think of it as a '**** you' to the nay sayers.

So don't be expecting anything too drastic from us over the next few days/weeks. Until we are the last people in line I'll bite my tongue and not moan too loud as I do feel for the people still waiting. Once and if we are last in line, oh momma ...

Have a good evening y'all!!!

It was the weirdest thing. Yesterday, I was bored at work, it was around 5 PM PST, so I figured I would check and see. Still no activity since 12/12. So since I was bored, I thought I would call to see what the touch in December was about. WHen the system asked for our case number, I mistyped it and then tried again. It told me that our petition was approved on 03/11. I thought, "What? that's weird." So I went back to USCIS and checked and sure enough it showed as approved now. I just sat there saying oh my god a few times, jumped over to a co-workers desk. told them what happened. tried to call Riza, but my cell phone won't allow international calls, so I went looking through my wallet for my phone card, emailed Riza, called my mom, charged my phone card, called Riza, no answer, got an email from Riza that she had gotten the email from USCIS and she was crying, and she left her cell phone at home.

It was a pretty good day.

Haha - that's awesome!!! I was kidna freaking out like that when I got my first touch :D It had been so long that the fact someone had looked at my file was more important to me at that point than NOA2 :)

Eli - I am sure you will be fine with the wedding date you have planned :D It's nice to book things as well :) We're in discussions with our wedding planner about a few things they want to charge us for and we are disputing so that is fun(!) because we really get on with them well :P
