Waiting for a NOA2 from CSC for your I-129F?

a few people have asked me about that now

no, I've entered the receipt date as it appears on the NOA1 hard copy; I know there are a few different opinions as to whether this should be the date that's used, but bszoom's argument was pretty convincing, so that's what I've done :)

Ditto - everyone I have spoken to has stated that the most accurate NOA1 date is the one printed on the hard copy. Which printed date? There are 2 different dates on most NOA1's and some of them have 3.

And my money is on 33 - just to be even more optimistic!!!

As for updates, Bszoom has his hands full right now but I am sure he will post another one soon with the alterations - if not I am sure you can PM him or post here with any queries - in my experience he has been very accommodating (even when I wasn't on the list because I put in my wedding date already!). He will update it I am sure but it won't be three times a day - I know we all have to use a lot of patience in the long wait but a bit more while waiting for a list to show in this thread won't be half as bad :D

VJ is a little inconsistent in that a lot of their reports mention the NOA1 date but the algorithm they use to project the adjudication date is based on the date the petition was sent. To prove this, you can change the NOA1 dates in your timeline by a month and your projected adjudication date will not change. Change your sent date by one day, and your projected adjudication date will change also.

I think VJ is in the process of re-evaluating what dates they use, but in the meantime VJ timeline instructions clearly state (and this is a recent change) that the NOA1 date to enter into the timeline is the notice date.

I also have serious doubts as to the wisdom of using the notice date. However, in the interest of consistency I entered the notice date as the NOA1 date in my timeline. I hope VJ revises their algorithm and instructions soon.

Which printed date? There are 2 different dates on most NOA1's and some of them have 3.

in the discussion thread I saw, it was 'received date' that was deemed to be best... on the logic that that's the date THEY'LL use (as in, 'processed in the order in which they were received'), and the other is only the notice date and can be out by weeks or even months

in any case, my 'sent date' and my 'received date' are only a day apart, as people have noted, so nothing's going to change much whichever of those gets used ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I have also used the notice date - I would imagine it being a notice of action that this would be the most accurate description! In my sig timeline I have also included the date received... to what extent their significance is right now I can only guess :D I don't know if we will ever know which date if either is more important or valid :)

I also read that thread and agreed with the consensus that the received date is probably the best date to use. However, despite actively participating in that discussion VJ apparently does not agree. Their recently modified instructions clearly state to use the notice date.

I have no idea why they want us to use the notice date. I think I'll make a follow up post in that thread to ask VJ why.

This is one of those little things that drives me crazy but is probably not worth agonizing over at all.

Well, my 129f was sent in May 31st, and, like so many others, I never received a NOA1 until much later (although some never receive one at all). I don't have a Received Date on the NOA1, but I do have a Priority Date and according to what I was told on another thread back at the beginning of my journey, I should use the Priority Date. as the Notice Date is just the date they print the to show what date the notice was printed and sent...which is true in my case and many others. I think that's the reason why VJ uses the sent date as many people either never receive a NOA1 or they get replacement NOA1's with a notice date much further out than what they're actually being processed at.

VJ instructions state to use the notice date but a lot of members appear to be entering other dates because they feel for one reason or another that an alternate date would be more accurate. Projected adjudication dates are based on date sent but a lot (if not most) of the VJ reports and graphs refer to processing time from NOA1 date to NOA2 date. What a mess.

As I said earlier, I realize in the long run this is not very important but a little consistency would be helpful to us ####### detail oriented people. :help:

Haha - yeah I don't suppose what date is used as long as it remains consistent :)

As I said earlier, I realize in the long run this is not very important but a little consistency would be helpful to us ####### detail oriented people. :help:

Well, then I guess the consistency you're hoping for needs to start with USCIS. What do you suggest people who never recieve a NOA1 use as a date? That was the question posed to the forum back in May and June when those of us who never got one in the first place, actually started getting replacement notices. There is no received date listed...only a priority date. When I called to ask about the NOA1 after finally receiving my hard copy in the mail, I was told they would use the priority date not the notice date since the notice date was the date they printed a replacement NOA1. I agree it's a mess and in the long run this is not very important, but there seems to be little anyone can do when there's no consistency from USCIS as to even sending out notices to all of us.

Let's just pray that they keep cranking out the NOA2's at CSC and start again at VSC...all of us are playing this waiting game and many who filed before me..Mirla & Byron just to name a couple..all want the process to keep moving at something higher than a snail's pace :)

Good Luck to all of us!
