from ir2 to f1 visa category

hello, my niece visa category is ir2 on her ustraveldocs visa information.  how do we change from ir2 to f1? thanks. Her visa interview  is coming up on Nov 22. 

she is below 18yrs old.

What do you mean?   Does she have an approved petition?

she does have an  approved petition.  while we filling out her info in ustraveldocs, we accidentally choose ir2 instead of f1.  

how  do we want to  change it to f1 visa category.

You have an interview scheduled so I don't understand the concern.  The Consulate will issue the Visa under the proper category

so this is what happened. when we scheduled my niece for her visa interview in ustraveldocs, we accidentally chose ir2 as her visa category. then she went to her medical at st lukes and was grateful that the staff there caught  our mistake. she suggested to use f1 visa instead. 

so we logged back in in her ustraveldocs account and trying to change her visa category but no success. 

here was the fixed. we cancel her visa interview appointment. after it was cancelled, we scheduled a new appointment for her.  this gave us option  to choose the proper visa category. so  now she has the correct visa category. she just lost her previous visa appointment. we found out that its ok to  cancel  a visa interview appointment as long as its more 48 hrs prior to the interview day.
