Completed a DS160 form for a B2 visa from Turkey. It was done a week ago but when I go to check the status on the CEAC website with my Application ID it keeps returning back “Your search did not return any data”.

Why does it show this? I have to fill out the entire DS160 again?

Did you keep a copy of the DS-160 to make sure you are entering the info exactly as you did in the application i.e. passport number etc? Have you tried using both Ankara and Istanbul?

Yes I have a copy of the DS-160 and entered the details exactly. I tried both Istanbul and Ankara.

  • In order to use the CEAC Status Check, you will need to enter your CEAC barcode and the interview location. The CEAC barcode can be found on the DS-160 confirmation page. CEAC DS-160 Barcode numbers start with AA followed by 8 digits.

Yes that’s what I used. I have the barcode that starts with AA and is followed by 8 characters.

Why are you checking an application when all you have done is fill out the DS160 and haven't even gone to the interview yet? What are you expecting to see?

I’m expecting to see something like “Submitted” or “pending”.. so I know it was at least in the system. But when you see a message like “Your search did not return any data” it’s similar to an error and I wanted to know if this is normal or do I have to resubmit the application.

That's normal since you don't actually have a visa case yet.  Pay the MRV fee, book your interview appointment, and attend your interview.  Then check the case status on CEAC.

My dad had an interview on April 2023 for a non-immigrant visa. He showed up at the interview and he has been in the clearance process since. Now that I check his DS160 number it says "Your search did not return any data."

I am pretty sure I have been inputting the correct information, I have been trying this for the past two months and I am kinda thinking something should be wrong. Is there anywhere I can follow up on this? Any advice?
