Greetings, I am a citizen of the United States. In 2003, I initiated the process of obtaining an immigrant visa (Green Card) for my sister and her family, who reside in India. In 2015, my sister was contacted by the National Visa Center to finalize and arrange the visa interview. Unfortunately, circumstances prevented her from progressing with the application at that time.

Currently, my sister is keen on relocating to the United States. I am seeking clarification on whether it is possible to reactivate the immigrant visa petition or if I need to submit a fresh petition, essentially starting the entire process again.

Thank you!

She should have been contacting NVC once a year to keep her case alive.

She should contact NVC now (everything is done online now) to see if she can move forward.

Since 2015, the priority dates for F4 have moved just one year. IOW a new India F4 I-130 will require (2022 - 2004) * (2022 - 2015) = 18 * 7 = 126 years for NVC to take up.
