That's cute

 

I picked up that crazy cat tower they have at Costco for the kitties. They are loving it. I anchored it to the wall. As crazy as teh girls get on their small cat tree, I figure anching it was a good idea. I'm glad they set it up that way.

Where does one find them, and what are the operating instructions?  Must one hold them until they're licked into nothing?  Can they be left in bowls to be enjoyed at feline leisure?  It's irresponsible to advertise a product without including instructions, all possible side effects, etc., D ma'am!

They have them at Walmart now. Petsmart and I didn't check Petco. 

 

Yes you must hold onto the stick. Mine licked it a few times then went crunch and the pieces fell off the stick.

Well, the Cat Distribution Network was in full force last week. 

 

We had a little dude try to visit our back yard only to be chased away by the dog.  The neighbors asked if the friendly kitty was ours - nope.  Saw the kitty the next day and decided to feed him.  He DOVE into the bowl.  Fed him again that evening with the same reaction.  Realized he was sleeping under the dwarf palmetto in the front yard.  The next day we took him to the vet to check for a chip.  He was chipped but his owner didn't want him and claimed some story about the cat ran away a month prior and she couldn't take him back because she has 6 cats and her husband is on dialysis or something.  I buy none of it because the cat was too clean, hungry and lacking in fleas and would have had to have made over a 5mi journey across the I-45 interstate to land where he did.  I think she dumped him and forgot he was chipped...

 

We made the decision to keep the kitty.  He's the sweetest, most affectionate guy.  Kid1 has fallen deeply in love with this cat and has claimed him as hers.  She's created his account with the vet and has him booked for Saturday for full vetting and vaccinations.  We're working on introductions with the 2 boomer cats already in residence.  Everyone, meet Monty.

What a lucky cat to get dump at your place. Congratulation. 

 

Ppl do that a lot it is so sad. It is so easy to drop them off at a rescue or list them on a FB group or something like that. Ppl just can't be bothered. 

 

My previous neighbours found a scottish terrier in their yard. They took him in and the vet located the son of the previous owner. Poor old lady had passed and he tossed her dog out the door. When the vet called him he told him he didn't want the dog. My neighbour took him in.

Some years ago, I had a free weekend and decided to drive to Louisiana for the day.

I stopped in rural east Texas at a Stuckey's on I-10, with nothing else around it but fields.

 

As I came out, I noticed a scruffy gray cat with a weepy eye.  It miu'd at me.

 

I went inside, bought a can of Friskies, and took an available styrofoam plate & plastic fork.

I opened the can.  The cat knew what it was and got very excited.

I spread the glop on the plate and set it down for the kitty.  It wolfed it down, then miu'd at me.

I went back inside, got a second can, and repeated the process.

There was no real way to supply any water.

 

I mentioned the cat to the store personnel, but they didn't give a damn.

 

Because of self-imposed timing, I left (with regret) while the kitty was wolfing the second can.

I really couldn't have taken it with me, with nowhere to seek help for it.  But I still feel guilty.

I've often thought about it.

The kitty was either dumped, or it got away during a traveler's restroom break and wasn't found.

Given its condition, it had been out there for some time, and it had probably been a house-cat.

I hope that someone else rescued it or that it met a peaceful end.

I should have found a way to do something.

You guys are never going to believe this...I was scrolling Facebook on the weekend and Montgomery County Precinct 3's arrest notification pops up.  I stop and ask hubs if the lady in the picture was the lady that dropped off the cat's paperwork.  He confirmed, yes, it was. 

 

Y'all, the lady that used to own Monty was arrested for Delivery of a Controlled Substance Causing Death!!!!  I can't even make this stuff up!
