I think during the whole process we called NVC once, emailed Montreal twice, called Montreal twice on different issues, and wrote a letter to my District Office. I dunno, to each their own, I guess!

Congrats on getting the interview date richi. :)

I emailed them every day untill they got p***** off with me and gave me a date (or maybe it was just my time to be top of the embassy list that day), but I like to think it was me mailing and agging them every day.

If it makes you feel like you are doing something productive instead of just sitting at home watching the hands on a clock move then what harm can it do huh?

I think the point of fact is, 'my money's as good as yours'! Simple.

No amount of preaching 'dont do that because it might balls up somebody elses's chances of getting email replies months down the line', doesnt wash with me. I see the other side of the coin....but i choose to ignore it.

or you could view it another way.

1 seat left on a plane, you and someone else desperately want it. you've both paid for it. next one isnt available for a few weeks.

SO,

do you give it up...or do you take it???

No doubt there'll be someone that says 'i'd let it go'. OF COURSE! This forum has its fair share of people with 'holier than thou' attitude. Fortunately the good far outweigh the bad on here.

ANYWAY-

Unless it was a matter of life or death for the other individual.....

I'd TAKE IT

And therein lies the only point I was getting at. You get further down the line and you cannot push the process. You've got to get a tough hide or you will drive yourself mad. There's a ways to go yet.

Regarding the consulate stage of the process, I don't believe e-mailing stops other people from getting dates. I just am not convinced that e-mailing works at all.

I don't know your age but at my age, a little bit of consideration about the consequences of one's actions to others beforehand is considered good and admirable. Your words speak a lot about you. Your thinking is akin to a queue jumper. You'll want to get what is yours and what you paid for, others be damned.

I'm not a saint by any means, and I've done selfish things. But a little thought and considerations go a long way to making society a better place to live.

Good luck to you and your selfish future.

:lol: Richi, thanks for your humor

Emailing the consulate is like betting on a horse and winning (I sometimes get the first 2 in good order, rarely 3). Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I found out that I usually have more luck with the horse than with the consulate though!

I completely agree. Once you get into AOS territory, it's like No Man's Land, and there's really nothing to do about it, until the 90 days go by, etc etc. But VJ helped to prepare me for the wait -- I could track what was going on and knew approximately how long it was going to take at my district office. I think I checked my status online once, and that was after my AOS interview.

Me neither. But some people feel better if they are doing something. Me, I didn't have the time to bother emailing the consulate on a constant basis. C'est moi!

What the hell has age got to do with it , be it 17 or 70?

No need to preach to me about how YOU feel about ME.

EVERYBODY has their reasons for wanting to TRY to speed up the process. As I've had to explain to you ALREADY.

I care about the individuals on here that I see distressed and so offered advice regarding my situation:

You seem to have a problem with that. Fair enough. Its a democracy and you're perfectly entitled to that opinion.

Yes I want to get what is mine (for my own reasons), you're damn right. If you are in the posistion and able to sit back at this stage, then good luck to you and your 'devil-may-care', 'butter wouldnt melt' attitude'.

Queue jumper....questionable, I see where you're going with that, but I disagree.

Basically you're telling me that I SHOULDNT have offered my own personal advice and experiences as its not correct? ONLY WHEN I have an opinion that mirrors yours would I be correct???

Read my posts again, it appears that you have difficulty in either understanding the Queen's English or what I'm saying.

You offer your gospel and I'll offer mine. If I've helped one person on this board, then I feel I've done some right.

I went on the advice of others. Some friends in the real world, some friends off here, and I emailed the embassy (London). Whether it works or not, is only an OPINION.

Maybe you should right a book on the do's and donts on what to do throughout the K1 process, as you appear to be right, morally or therwise.Possibly stick to advising others from your own Embassy? Just MY opinion.

Oh, and MY 'selfish future'? I've raised more money for charity (overseas) than you could ever dream of.

You can stick that, where you can stick the rest of your wishes.

We all do what we need to for our own process. If someone gets an edge (thats if one could even call emailing the embassy an edge) so what. No law being broken. Many of us make many calls or send many emails to get answers. If that results in something being done (which I have my doubts, more a coincidence me thinks) then so what too. I am more of the opinion though that emailing too often can also cause delays. I wouldnt want mine put to the bottom of pile on someones whim cause they thought I was a pain lol That would be my luck.

Congrats on the interview richi and all the best with it
