Yes,  there are many jobs,  for instance,  that are not open to LPR but are only for USC and u need to update at SS before or after US passport /  no special order

I guess I don't understand why? As an LPR you already get a SS card that does not have any restrictions stated?

SS card may not show restrictions but if do not change the status in the SS computers to citizen instead of LPR,  there are jobs closed to u 

the card will not change but SS computers will be updated
