Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)

No problem. We opened UK Amex accounts 6 months before we moved, purely for that reason. Not sure on the job as I did have one, perhaps I'd have been given a lower credit limit without it? And we applied for them before we had our SSN's but I suspect it may make it easier if you did have it. 

 

Here's the info from the Amex website, make sure you use the 'I'm Already A Card Member' link on the application page when you do apply.

Hi everyone, EB1 here, my priority date was Aug 2023 and I received documentarily qualified status at the end of March 2024; now waiting for interview date at the Lagos embassy in Nigeria. However, my wife works in London, and I also hold legal residency in London as her dependent. I work in Lagos but shuttle between Lagos and London to be with family.

 

I've heard about the backlog at the Lagos embassy, and I'm contemplating transferring my case to the London embassy. Could anyone advise if London embassy is significantly faster than Lagos? And is the process to transfer my case to London straightforward? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

From what I’ve learned yes it is faster in London. You have to show your proof of residency to NVC to change consulate. Your lawyer should advise you further.

I had also changed to London. Send a public inquiry to NVC and attach your BRP and proof of address (bank statement or bills or driving licence). They will change and give your new case number starting with LND.

Thanks for the info. I just checked your profile and saw your processing from DQ to interview date was about 11 months. I had imagined London was much faster. Is that the normal processing timeline from DQ to interview date?

I had to wait for my PD to be current. Otherwise, london is the fastest among all others

 FYI If someone is a UK citizen you don’t need proof of residency - I am a UK citizen but had been living on the US on temp work visas but the UK accepted me for an appointment as I am a citizen.

That is unusual though, lots of UK citizens have tried and been told no as they’re not resident there. So I’d say your case was the exception rather than the norm for London.

Is there a delay with EB processing at the London embassy? Got DQ in November 2023 and still waiting for IL (PD current). Anyone else with DQ in November 2023  got IL?

@Rainbow Aligator is another EB1 who was also DQ’ed in Nov I believe, and interviewed in January. There’s a London thread for EB2 applicants in the UK forum that may be worth a look too, have a read of the last few pages of that and see if people there have been getting interviews.

Hello everyone, is there someone eb1/eb2 who received their IL for the Paris embassy the last 3 months . There's no way to find any information about the delay for this embassy.
