My husband and I are in an unusual situation where we want to delay his interview by a few months. I’ve gotten some hate for this, and I assure you it is not because we are taking this lightly. He has to stay in his job for a certain period of time to retain an equity package that is worth a considerable amount of money. We did not know about this when we started the process 2 years ago, but, since we are so close now, it is not really an option to sacrifice it. My husband had an interview scheduled for Nov 7 at the London consulate, but we had to reschedule because he is in the US visiting my family. Currently they are scheduling out to mid-December, but we have not picked a new date yet.

As heartbreaking as it is to delay his move by a few months, does anyone know how long we can wait to rechedule the interview or how many times we can reschedule it? We haven’t done the medical yet either, so we are just trying to delay for a few months so we do not face issues with his employer. I obviously don’t want to jeopardize the visa process either.

The visa, when issued, will be valid from 6 months from the date of the medicalNot the interview date.

So, for example, if your husband did his medical in Dec 2022, then scheduled an interview in Jan 2023, he would be issued a visa that would be valid until May 2023.
