Questions regard to traveling to US with IR1 Visa

First of all, thanks to the community support, my wife has gotten her passport back with no issue and ready to take off to the US. Only two more questions

1. With the US IR1 visa, could you transit in Vancouver, Canada i.e without going through board custom and leave the airport? My wife has a Chinese passport so she can't enter Canada visa free even though she has no intention to do so in this case. 

2. How soon can you leave US again? She intended to travel back to China to collect her sales commissions before resigning her job permanently.

You may be able to transit through Canada without a Canadian visa if you

  • are from China and
  • plan to fly through Canada on your way to or from the United States

generally if you need a visa to visit Canada you need a transit visa to transit to the US… Take this quiz to see if you can transit through Canada without applying for the transit visa. 
Once your wife enters the US  and has a green card though she won’t require a visa to Canada as an LPR of the US.
