  1. If anyone ever needs to get this answered in the future. I ended up calling the CBP office and officer told me it matters. So the end of the story, I made a next day appointment and got the stamp already.
  2. My wife arrived in the US through San Francisco Airport about 2 weeks ago. However when I checked her passport, there is no stamp or whatsoever. If we travel to Canada in about a month, will the IR1 visa (UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 Evidencing PR for one year) serves as a re-entry permit?
  3. First of all, thanks to the community support, my wife has gotten her passport back with no issue and ready to take off to the US. Only two more questions 1. With the US IR1 visa, could you transit in Vancouver, Canada i.e without going through board custom and leave the airport? My wife has a Chinese passport so she can't enter Canada visa free even though she has no intention to do so in this case. 2. How soon can you leave US again? She intended to travel back to China to collect her sales commissions before resigning her job permanently.
  4. Call them to ask the question directly. It is super easy to get someone on the line or just send them a question in their question forum.
  5. Hey, my experience could only speak for couples with similar age and same background because I've heard someone who married a white dude with a totally different question set. So basically, where you met your SO, what does he/she do, where does he/she live now. Only 3 questions, that's it.
  6. best bet is to find someone in your country who had an interview recent to deduce your wait time.
  7. So I just emailed the embassy about my new I-184. The embassy wanted me to upload it to the CEAC website and bring the new version to the interview. My question is, when I upload the file to CEAC website, do I need to click the submit button after uploading the file? The instruction from the embassy is to UPLOAD the file so I am not quiet sure. BTW, the interview is next Thursday.
  8. As far as I know, as long as you have a direct relative (wife/husband counts) in China, you can apply. Otherwise, wait for further notice.
  9. Roughly 6 weeks but the waiting time totally depends on country.
  10. My interview date 10/20, waiting for this date to come patiently.
  11. you are back to the last position of the queue whenever you submit additional docs. Say if the NVC is reviewing documents submitted on 2022/07/31 as of now and you just submitted something, you are likely have to wait around 45 days.
  12. They knows nothing about the interview date. I think the workflow is like this 1. The consulate sends a list of available timeslots to the NVC 2. Then the NVC assigns individuals to each timeslot 3. Then consulate gets notified your appointment date and your case files too. I could be wrong but this is the info I got while I was waiting for my interview appmt impatiently.
  13. Yeah, I think you are about 6 - 8 weeks out before you hear anything back from the NVC. Yeah, I think you are about 6 - 8 weeks out before you hear anything back from the NVC.
  14. The wait time used to be 1 week. Then they prioritized the student visa so the wait time started to spike. Currently, I believe 6-week wait time.
  15. I feel like your consulate must backlog like crazy.
  16. Just want to report back, DQ'ed 7/14, interview on 10/20. Literally received the email while I am tiktoking and eating breakfast at the same time.
  17. No more b****ing from me. Just want to report back, DQ'ed 7/14, interview on 10/20.
  18. I've been wondering the same thing and did a bit of research. The closest answer I can find is try to look for the most recent IL date or you can compare theirs to yours.
  19. I did email them, but my embassy is not in Jakarta, Indonesia. Let's see if my Interview letter arrives faster or the reply from NVC.
