I got a receipt number from uscis for my permanent residence, i want to ask that the receipt number starts with

MSCXXXXXXXXXX

When i check my status online it dont accept it what it means,

thanks

God bless us all

Do you know where your paperwork is being processed? I know MSC stands for Missouri Service Center.perhaps that's where it's being completed? I know they use the first three letters for other stuff (like ISL for Islamabad). If that's not it I'd be glad to do some further digging for you.

Hey there, have you tried the automated phone system? Maybe if it's not ready online it would be recognized by the computer system via telephone......if not then it seems you'd have to call during business hours and find out the status and perhaps how long it'll be before the website and/or the automated service works. Try calling, if you can, though, just to see if it'll work on the system. Best of luck. Glad you're over here and getting things finalized on this side of the pond...congrats!

Hi All,

My case has been sent to Islamabad on Thursday Nov. 15, my priority date for my K1 is 23 of May 2007. I have a few questions:

1 -- How long does it take for ISB to receive the petition?

2 -- I have noticed a lot of people here on VJ have received earlier interviews, do you think she will receive interview this year?

3 -- Is there anything we can do while we are waiting for ISB to contact her in Lahore?

4 -- Is there any way to put a rush on the K1 petition? I am going to be in Lahore, Dec 20 to Jan 4, and would love for her to come back with me.

Thanks in advance for you help!

Hey there.... our case just recently went to ISB as well.....to answer your questions (and this is the average, as usual all cases are different)

1. They will rec. an electronic notification within a week.

2. It is HIGHLY unlikely you will get an interview by the end of the year.......people whose cases have been in ISB for months already haven't gotten interviews....not trying to be a downer....just what's going on over there.

3. There is no way to put a rush on a visa...they don't really have any concern. I mean, there are ALWAYS situations that people would have for good reason for having rushes.....we were even willing to pay more and they said it's notpossible.....not because of babies being born (our case) or you being in the country. Even I was planning a visit at the end of the year and now planning on just staying because our case is stuck there thanks to the slow process. It's a long story, but we had expected my husband to come back with me in Feb and was even ready to arrange a ticket for him......but that's the way the system works sadly.

I wish for you that your case will be processed quicker....and maybe you guys will be lucky.

My husband went for his fingerprints and gave his passport today. They said MUBARAK to him and he will get his passport back in 1 week with visa. YEAH!

Usually after leaving NVC, you get the packet from ISB within 5 weeks and interview within 9 weeks. Add one extra week for the visa to get to her. If everything goes well, you should plan something in last 2 weeks of Jan if you could. This is the pattern I have noticed lately.

I hope this help.
