All paper filing vs. part e-filing/ part paper

Hello,

Am wondering what advice people have on this as some forms, at least the I-130 can be e-filed, while the I-485 cannot.  Is it better to keep it all together in one packet and send it by mail?  Or does it make sense to file some part of it electronically?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

We filled my I-130 online and uploaded all our evidence . It was just easier than printing everything out and mailing it off. We sent a copy of the receipt with the rest of my I-485 package .

So I guess the receipt is generated immediately?

Considering all of the bona fide marriage documents it might be a lot easier to do online!

Yes, the receipt is generated immediately. We had a ton of evidence, it was much easier to just upload it all online

Hmmm, yes that seems like a good idea.

Do you know whether the I-130 and I-485 packet need to be submitted simultaneously?  Or can there be a gap of a few days?

Yes there can be a gap , my online filing was 20 August and we mailed the rest in October , so no worries there

OK, so you had a two month gap between filing the I-130 and the I-485 packet.  I was thinking about a few days difference.  Sounds OK.

I filled aos package for a friend, she is adjusment status from tourist visa.

i did i-130 online on june 15, and mailed together  the i-485, I-131; i-765 and i-601 ( she is applying for a vaccination waiver)  on june 16.

uscis got the package on saturday june 18.
on june 29 she got text message from uscis with receipts numbers.

We are waiting on the mail the letters from uscis, today i checked the status on UScis case status and i was surprised when i see that appoinment for biometric was scheduled.

Hmm, yes that is strange that you haven't gotten the receipt from USCIS and they have already scheduled the biometric appointment!

Do you have any idea why?
