Varicella question

Sorry if this has been asked before guys.. But is it true that the Varicella/Chickenpox vaccine is not necessary? I'm so totally confused right now..

Varicella is a required shot, BUT it is waived if you have had chickenpox. They mark your immunisation form  “VH” meaning Varicella History. You need no written proof of having chickenpox. They take your word that you had it.

 

AND in the UK, varicella in not a routine childhood immunisation so the shot isn’t found easily. A varicella waiver can also be given (in the UK) for “not routinely available”.  You don’t have to get the shot when it qualifies for a waiver. In the uk, you have 2 ways of getting a waiver and skipping the shot.
