NOA2 does not mention NVC, just consulate

My NOA2 797 I-129f petition approval notice(6.May.2022) says something odd. Instead of telling me it is sending my approved petition to NVC, it said it is sending it to the listed consulate(not listed in letter, I assume the embassy I listed in my petition application here in Bahrain).

The NOA2 797 approved I-129f letters I’ve seen posted on here or FB all mentioned sending the approved petition to NVC. Can any of you check yours to see if it says the same? I’m wondering if mine is just a new version of the letter or if this means I should contact the US embassy here in Bahrain for next steps or if it still is going to NVC.

Interesting. My first reaction is how will you get the NVC case number so you can track your case on the CEAC tracker?

I would cross post this with your regional forums for Bahrain, and contact the embassy where you requested the K1 interview to get further directions.

It would help if you fill out your Timeline so others have a better idea of your progress and help visajourney stats pages. Thanks.

Thank you for the info, I’ll reach out to the consular at the embassy tomorrow. I also updated my stats.

I followed up with the consulate here in Manama, Bahrain and they were not of much help, but they did respond quickly. Basically said, 'we don't have it until we got it'. Their take on it was that it still goes to NVC and they cannot help until I have a case id number, even though my I-797 said it was going directly to the consulate, no mention of NVC. I thought they would be more helpful, so until I get the NVC welcome letter or another way to obtain the case ID number, I have to wait.

What I would do is wait about a week, and call NVC for the case number and invoice number. Good luck!

As of May 23, NVC public inquiry phone service has been suspended -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/nvc-public-inquiry-telephone-line-suspension.html
