Adjusting on the basis of DV is tricky.

The combination of the two deserves a consultation with an immigration attorney.

Adjusting for DV is actually very easy IF you are in status

Adjusting for DV from asylum pending is however indeed tricky, and seems to depend in large part on whether you filed for asylum while you were still in a legal status initially in the US.  The upside is that even if you are denied for DV your asylum pending status remains valid and that process remains in place.

I might consult with an attorney to see if the underlying basis is ok for adjustment, but definitely i would not  use an attorney to do the actual adjustment stuff beyond that. Indeed, many people’s experience is that using attorneys used to other types of adjustment (as almost all of them are) can be problematic for DV adjustment as the process /timeline is somewhat  different and despite charging $x00 per hour they don’t all seem to realize that. There is an excellent and free resource guide for DV adjustment available. OP, i will PM you the link for that.
