Hi @Leeching Spouse sorry for late. yes, I got updates that they have contacted the USCIS and as per the response the case has already been forwarded to NVC. Eventually, it is.

@Sindhieagle Congrats !! Have you received your case number and invoice id too?

Could you please also add your timeline (like the others above). It will be very helpful for the rest of us waiting here.

Hi, everybody! A couple of updates since the last time that I posted here... We've received the Welcome Letter on July 21 and in that same day I paid for the fees. On July 23 the CEAC was ready for the DS-260 form filling. To our surprise, the documents will have to be sent to the NVC via mail, and not by uploading them into CEAC. I think that @JBRE22022 anticipated this in another topic. Nevertheless, we've ordered and received the translation of the documents and everything seems ready to be sent. Hopefully by the beginning of the next week we'll have all this sorted out.

@JLVS22BR Good luck, one step closer! I think the paper submission requirement is linked to the consulate so I wonder if this would be different for other countries of chargeability. The main issue for me was that the NVC website states that translations are not needed if the language of the documents is the same as the country where the interview will take place. However, the cover sheet sent in the case receipt asks for the translations.

I will let my friend know about the good news. Thanks. They sent email to CIS Ombudsman on July 6th, so it's been 11 days.

I retraced your timeline. Could you please kindly verify?

  • June 20th (T): Sent Email to CIS Ombudsman
  • June 27th (T+7d): Received response from CIS Ombudsman
  • June 29th (T+9d): Received notification from Case Tracker that case was transferred to NVC
  • July 8th (T+18d): Received email from NVC that they have your petition and will be issuing Welcome Letter shortly

@CanadianMD any news on the CIS Ombudsman request raised by your friend ?

We are considering this option, so wanted to know how many days it takes for any reply. Thanks.

@JustHopeful No updates yet. Will likely take the ombudsman route too if I don't hear anything after 130 days. Hopefully things will move before then🤞

Thanks for the update. Is there a period of time to wait before raising the ombudsman request - you had mentioned 130 days?

Hoping we don't have to go through that process and hear back too 🤞

Pleasure. No, not aware of a wait period, just the timeline I'm working with.

Me too!

No update. They were told it can take up to 30 days to receive a response from Ombudsman, and also 60 days to receive a response from USCIS. They are at wit's ends. Lawyers recommend just waiting...

OK. That's a long time to receive a reply from Ombudsman - I thought their website stated like a 7-10 days reply timeline. Maybe a lot of people are raising an Ombudsman request and they are backlogged too.  The waiting is so painful, we can all relate to that. Hope your friend gets good news soon.

@susana_1983 and @JLVS22BR  timeline for reply from Ombudsman looked very promising. We were contemplating the Ombudsman request, since  there is no other option left to explore.  Still worth a try, we have to talk to our lawyer. Any suggestions on what to do from the others on this forum ?

Hi,

I got an email from my Attoney that NVC sent the frm DS-1200 with application ID and Invoice ID on August 4th. Seems like NVC didn't send welcome letter rather DS-1200. Also it mentioned to send documents via physical mail.  Today i paid the fee and waiting for the processing.

Hope this information helps.

Hi @JBRE22022! May I ask you two quick questions? The first one: when you got DQ, did they send you an e-mail or you just checked the status in the CEAC? Lastly, did they schedule your interview? Thanks in advance!
