Question about the taxes for the interview

Hi,

What taxes documents should i take with me to the interview ?

I usually file my taxes and get form 1040 after filing and these are the documents that I’ve uploaded along with my application online (I applied online).
Are forms 1040 the tax transcripts that i keep hearing from people of tax transcripts are something else ?

Also, I live in New Jersey and work in NYC, for 2021 taxes i filed and finished the federal taxes as well as New Jersey tax and got my refund for both, except for NYC tax which the status shows that they’ve sent me a letter asking for an additional information and I’m not really sure what information they need (haven’t received the letter yet). However, they owe me $286 and I’m just afraid that this letter would be asking me for more money to pay (which is fine, if they found a mistake while filing and it turns to be that I owe them not they owe me). My concern is during the interview when the officer asks the tax question : Do you owe any taxes to the government, state? Should I answer yes or no ? As of now I’m not owing anyone anything but this letter I’m waiting for which i don’t know what it is might state that i owe them? What should I answer in this case?!

Sorry for the long story, thank you.

You can download tax return transcript from IRS website. Just make an account there and you can download yours for free. 1040 it’s not tax transcript. It’s basically the same thing but more like a transcript ( hence the name )

just answer honestly if the IO ask.

IRS Tax Transcripts are superior. Download these as mentioned by @Misscloud

Ok which one is it? Return transcript, account transcript, record transcript, or income transcript ?
