I864 my husband is retired

we just received REF and said that my husband isnt qualified as a sponsor. 

My husband is retired ARMY and he gets about $7000 every month. 

We submitted the letter from the military so I don't know what else we need to submit.

Maybe we needed to write explanation ??

I'm trying to contact USCIS but it is hard so please let me know if you have some advices.

What did you submit as evidence of his pay?  Did he just retire?

He retired Sep 2020. 
We submitted the retiree account statement and VA benefit information. Both includes how much he gets each month.

That may be confusing NVC.  Do you get monthly statements?  If so, those may help in showing his monthly income.

Has he filed taxes for the three most previously years?

 

You received the generic RFE.

It likely is asking for something else.

Assuming you filed I-485 and received RFE from USCIS . If your husband filed taxes and you sent in the Tax Return w the I-864 , they mistakenly SKIPPED the line for his NON TAXABLE income .

 

Respond to RFE , for example “ Response to RFE , case #..    RFE issued in Error “ 

Sponsor meets and exceeds poverty guidelines and has a NON TAXABLE/ LIFE TIME benefit of $7,xxx per month , for a total of $ xx,xxx per year. Include the VA benefit statement/ retiree award  and bank statement. and by now you should have a 1099 R ( I think)..
