Medical for parents before IR 5 interview

Hi,

 

Do you know if we can schedule medical exam under consular processing before we get call from embassy for interview. My parents are DQ but no call for interview and looks like there is a long wait. Wondering if can schedule medical in the meanwhile

The medical is valid for only 6 months.. and entry using the immigrant visa requires both the visa and medical to be unexpired.. so wait until  the interview is scheduled to avoid having to do a second medical

If you call the health center (we called in Moscow), they tell you that they can only schedule you once you have your interview date. I agree with Lil bear, since your medical does expire in six months, it's risky doing it ahead of time. We started working on our medical more than two years ago (by collecting vaccination records and doing titers) but then have been waiting for the interview date since September of 2020. Just got our interview date for April 2022, but all our titers expired. So we had to redo them all over again.

I will start on getting the vaccination records and the vaccines if they are missing any. Thanks!!
