My wife has an interview next month in Guangzhou.  Now there is a Covid outbreak in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and, so far, 3 people in the city my wife lives in near Guangzhou.  Where can I look to see what the Consulate doing as far as conducting interviews?  I'm thinking they will suspend interview and that we should wait for them to contact us to re-schedule. Anyone have insight and a solid place to look at online?  I looked at Visa Information - U.S. Embassy & Consulates in China (usembassy-china.org.cn) and didn't find any helpful information concerning the most recent outbreak.

from what we read now she is in  lockdown from the new outbreak as China is trying to test millions and contain this

so,  daily watch the embassy site and go to menu to see "news and events"

that should give u the best indication

At least 11 cities and counties nationwide have been locked down because of the latest surge, including the southern tech hub of Shenzhen, home to 17 million people.

We're hanging in there for the interview.  Had the medical yesterday, passed, now followed by a 7-day quarantine back home.  Interview is a little past that time.

Of course, I can't be there.  Is there anything I can do here in the states at this point to help my wife along with the interview?  A phone call to the consulate?  Anything?

My wife is getting nervous about the interview.  She wants me to call the consulate and explain what I can't be there are the interview.  The last I checked the Chinese consulate was not approving visas due to the pandemic.  But she tells me that western men are there with their fiance or wife at the consulate.

Any advice at this point.  Interview in about a week.

You are not required to attend the interview. I hope it goes well! We are still waiting for DQ. Hopefully we get the notice before the end of April!

The situation in China is pretty awful now.
