I see, almost a month.. I was checking similar timelines and it only took a week for their cases to be sent that’s why I was wondering how long it took for others. Thanks for the reply!

It’s all over the board.  I’ve seen cases go in two days!  They ship every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday so you won’t see activity outside of those days.  And it depends upon your embassy being able to accept cases as well.  Good luck!

Update on my interview at the US London Embassy today!!

I arrived at the US Embassy and joined a queue, took roughly 20minutes. Upon arriving at the front I was asked for my passport and invitation letter/DS-160 confirmation.

I then went through airport style security, no laptops or iPads permitted into the building! I was asked to open any app on my mobile.

I then made my way to the entrance where I joined another queue but once I got closer I informed the receptionist that I'm here for the K1 and she asked me to come forward, handed the DS-160 again, she stuck my number on the paper. Asked me to then proceed to floor 1, left then left again.

I approached the waiting room and immediately saw my number appear on the screen. The friendly lady behind the window asked a few questions; if I've ever been married, changed my name and when am I planning to travel. Then she asked me for the following documents:

1. Passport + 1 pic

2. Police certificate

3. Birth certificate (+ translation as its in a different language

4. Affadivit and a tax return but i provided my fiances W2 + Tax return transcript

I Wasn't asked for a letter of intent however, I had one from my fiance just in case. I then had a fingerprint scan. She then asked me to sit down and wait for my number to be called.

Fast forward 5 minutes and my number was called. I approached a different window and I cannot tell you how friendly the American man was!

He first asked me to raise my hand and swore me in, then scanned finger prints again. He proceeded with 'let's have a chat my friend' super casual! He asked the following questions:

1. How did we meet

2. When did we start talking

3. Have you lived in any other country as an adult

4. Who proposed

5. When did I propose

6. What are our wedding plans (small intimate wedding, married within 90 days)

After this he said everything looks great and approved my visa on the spot. Took 5minutes!! Told me my passport will be returned next week :)!

I was extremely nervous but honestly this was the easiest part about the entire process!!

Well done congratulations so happy for you!

I'm having the medical on Wednesday and booked the embassy interview for 16th May so we're getting there! It's good to hear that it's a straghtforward process and puts as at easy as all of our paperwork is sorted.

All the best for the next step! Let's see how long the AOS, EAD etc. takes ha

Ahh that's great to hear! Your medical and interview should be a breeze!

My interview was approved and yesterday the status changed from 'ready' to 'administrative processing' - not sure what this means but let's hope it doesn't take too long as i want to get out there asap :)!

I've had a look around and EAD's aren't taking that long to process and approve, one timeliness I've seen showed 50 days until approval so let's hope that flies for us!

Goodluck at your medical, you got this :)!

So our petition arrived on 15th April and when I called in today to check, they said it was sent back to USCIS on the 26th. Any idea why our petition would have been sent back? We didn't even get a case number

Sometimes USCIS forgets to mark the I-129f as approved and NVC has to send back.  Not a big deal just a delay.  Hopefully that is all it is. Hang in there.

yeah, really hoping it's something as simple as that. Just frustrated that it took 60 days for our petition to get sent over and then was sent back to USCIS in a week. Now we're really worried about how long USCIS would take to process it again as we are on a tight timeline

Ya I know this all sucks.  Delay after delay.  I’ve noticed that cases seem to be sent back quickly so hopefully that is the case with yours.

Hey just an update, my visa has finally been issued and out of AP took a total of 7 days (including the weekend) :)

Just in case people from the UK were wondering how long on average it takes for visa issuance :)

That is great news - well done!

Had my medical a couple of days ago and just like you said was super quick and smooth. Within one hour I was in and out!

Can't wait for the interview now and finally make a start with the move 🙂

Ahh I'm so glad it went smooth for you :)!

The interview is 10x smoother, you'll spend majority of the time waiting than the 5minute interview. Best of luck and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!!

Update for the London applicants!

So I went and collected my passport plus documents at the DX location (I optioned for this as I thought it might be faster). DX collected documents on Tuesday (as it was bank holiday Monday) and it was available to collect that same day!!

I want to note that when I got home I opened the package to retrieve my passport and there was a brown envelope which stated 'do not open', there was a tear on the side however, I dont have time to ask the embassy to reseal as I'm traveling tomorrow! (I know it's a bit of a rush haha)

I will update at POE if I have any problems or not regarding this envelope. It's frustrating that important documents are being shipped with such fragile material as there are quite a few documents within this!

Traveling with connecting flights, what are the chances of this extremely fragile brown enevople not to get slightly damaged via transit? Haha so wish me luck :)
