How long is the wait time to get an interview as IR1 in Manila US Embassy?

I just wanna know what's the current timeline for the IR1 interview in Manila? Also, what's the wait time after you submit everything to the NVC before getting an actual interview date? I heard some other country takes a long time, like 2 years or more, before getting an interview because of covid backlog. Thanks!

Experiences vary and it isn't clear why. 1-2 years from filing seems common. You can look at actual stats from other VJ members if you explore the Processing Times page (easier on desktop compared to mobile).

For our timeline our PD March 2020 and our petition was approved by USCIS on November 2020 and DQ date was Feb 2021. We received our interview date on Aug 2021 but couldn't make it as my wife was pregnant. Keep in mind ours was a CR-1. We were surprised it only took 6 months since we figured like you there was a massive backlog. We were not expedited at all.

Is your case already DQ-ed at NVC?  If not, the current timeframe for NVC review after submission of required documents is around 3 months.  You can check the published timeframe here -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

My case was DQ-ed in June 2021.  3 weeks after my DQ date, NVC sent my interview schedule.  No expedite.  I had to re-schedule due to being tagged for sputum testing.  After I cleared my medical exam, my new interview schedule was sent after 3 weeks again in Oct 2021, by USEM.

Thank you so much for the info! I was worried because in other countries like Mexico it takes 2 or more years for them to get an interview for CR-1, and I thought it would be the same in the Philippines because both countries are high volume applications. But this info is very reassuring to know!
