This is a question regarding the similar issue, I am US citizen and my fiancé is a Ghanaian living in the UK and we have a child together, and been visiting her frequently. I will like to know if we can get marry through the Utah online marriage and file for I 130 without any complications?

People in developing countries absolutely get scammed by people claiming to be from the USA.  And sometimes the scammers are actually from the USA.

What would be the incentive in a case like this?  Just curious.

You need to start your own thread.

You can do that, but you cannot file the petition until after another visit together.

I agree.  Since you must be together again AFTER the proxy marriage, it usually makes more sense to just get married the next time you are together.

OP's wife lives in the UK and if they want to marry in the UK they'll require a marriage visa.

OP's wife is also from Ghana so she might not have a visitor visa for the States or the ability to obtain one.

Ahh, then this could work well for them.  They can file after his next visit to the UK.
