I'm a long-time expat. My wife, kids, and I are committed to starting a life in the USA. We are 100% genuine in our intention to immigrate and settle in the USA.

A few questions...

1. Any best practices, in general, for getting the papers approved at NVC with the first review?
2. Does contacting senators have any affect on the timeline at NVC and/or the embassy interview process? I know that it can help at the USCIS level.
3. Because I am a long time expat, how do I thoroughly show my intent to repatriate? I have a US bank account, and a US-based LLC, though my identity is shielded from public view. My mom will write a letter stating our intent to live with her for the first 6 months of our return. What else can I include to make my intent to repatriate rock solid? We don't intend to put our kids in school b/c we homeschool, but I suppose I could enroll them for a school next fall, assuming that I could do that from overseas.

Thanks for your time and attention.

1.  Make sure everything is done according to the instructions.

2.  No.  This is a long process.  You can attempt to expedite is you have grounds.

3.  Those things are good steps in showing intent to re-establish domicile.  You will also need to show evidence of sufficient current annual income which will continue after re-locating to the US or you will have to show evidence of sufficient assets to support the new immigrants.

you need to have filed US tax returns for the years spent outside the US

income to support the family needs to be US income

you do not need letter from mother,  just use her address

Long time expat?   how long?   i ask as it makes a difference in regards to your kids   Were u able to apply for their US citizenship thru the rules for living abroad?

do u have a joint sponsor if no US income or income is insufficent?  and we don't need to know how much u make

u just have to know the poverty guideline for # of family  members and 125% income requirements

And Senator can not help

they can only make inquiries about a case with an letter of release from u /  they only get same info u can get

I've filed taxes. Not enough US based income, though. My father will be the financial sponsor. His retirement more than meets the 125% threshold.

18 years as an expat. Both kids are US citizens, passports and all.

You will be the primary sponsor.  Your Father will be the joint sponsor.  Good luck on your journey.  The immigration process requires a lot knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money.  It is quite a ride.....😃

Yeah, I get that. It feels like we're near the end though. Already in NVC. Got the ducks lined up and good to go.

Hey!   I see you are in Taiwan!!!   Great.  Back in early 2017,  the process from NVC to interview was fast and easy.  The interview email from NVC came only 5 days after the "DQ" email.  The interview at AIT in Taipei was the easy part according to my wife.

WAS in Taiwan. Now, we're in France, my wife's home country, and on the way to do some traveling as we await the interview.

Wha do you mean "cost of the petitions"?

If the kids have been made USC according to the rules ,  u do not have to do a petition for them

if they are not ,  each child needs his own petition to  immigrate to the USA at $535 each

Oh, right, I see. Our petition is already approved. We finished the 1-130 or 110 or whatever it was.
