Hey guys,
We've sent out AOS for my husband in October and checked the option for them to issue a Social Security Card since there were no available appts any time close when we arrived.
Did anyone else did the same thing? Does anyone know approximate waiting time to get Social Security Card?

We've received response for the EAD that they're actively working on it. And they've asked for 1 additional document for the Green Card form

We are trying to stay patient but with this Covid situation many things are almost impossible to do in timely manner.

Thanks!

You would receive it after your AOS is adjudicated (after the interview and approval). Even then, it’s not guaranteed they will send it. When you get your EAD you can go to SSA office. If you don’t get your EAD then you have to wait until you get your GC.

Thank you! I wasn't aware of the time limit for applying especially now during Covid.
We were initially put on the waiting list but they never called us back and in the meantime we submitted AOS and check option for SSI but we thought giving it another try wouldn't hurt.
We actually managed to get an appointment on Monday for me to change my last name and for him to get his #
