Does biometric reuse help?

Does biometric reuse mean case will go faster since you don’t have to wait for a biometric date? Technically that should skip a major step and make interview scheduling faster.

No, it has zero impact on your case. It only means your local ASC is full of other applicants who need to have their biometrics taken (most who have never had their bio taken before, such as AOS filers for instance). Many ASCs are still backlogged from last year's lockdown so they have to prioritize certain applicants and reuse old biometrics for other applicants.

 

The ASC backlog has nothing to do with the speed your field office schedules interviews. Many people have received bio reuse notices and still had to wait close to 2 years for an interview from the date of filing. Other applicants have received bio reuse notices but still been scheduled for a bio appointment later on.
