I’m currently experiencing delays with my SSN, which I need badly to do several stuff.
My EAD/AP was approved the first week of October, however I have not received my SSN yet.

I called the local SSA office nearby our home address and they said they have no records of my information being submitted to them. I then contacted USCIS, they were not very helpful, but one representative said they did not see my SSN was requested.

As I need my SSN as soon as possible, and my husband and I are currently not in the state where our residence is due to a temporary work assignment, I was wondering if I could go to an office close to where I am now and ask them to send the SSN to our residence (I would have a trusted person send me the number)?

Before calling to book an appointment I wanted to see if this is possible. I have all the documents needed for the SSN application here with me, including the EAD/AP.

Thank you very much!

I don't see any reason why you should not be able to apply for a SSN at the nearest office. I have not seen any place where it states that it has to be in your home state.

Thank you for your response. So it would be fine for me to ask them to send the SSN card to the residence in our home state?
