Thank you for the info. Can we start with DS160 when our case in CEAC is still stated as 'AT NVC' and we haven't gotten our welcome letter?

You do not get a welcome letter from the NVC for K1.

You get a notification letter when the case is sent from the NVC to the embassy.

Pre-covid it typically took about 4-6 weeks for the NVC to send the petition to the embassy (fron the time they assigned a case number).  Nowadays it depends on the embassy backlog and processing capacity due to reduced/limited staff.

Hi Paul and Marry, thanks for the advice. I think that makes a lot of sense. Guess we just need to wait for now.

Hey, just following this, also waiting on NL embassy and give a shout if yours ever gets sent from NVC to AMS!

Nov 3, 2020 - Sent I-129F

Nov 7, 2020 - USPS delivered to Dallas Lockbox

As of Dec 14, 2020, not yet received NOA1

To confirm: when the status is "ready", you fill out DS-160? Then do you schedule the interview? Or do you have to wait to get the "packet 3" from the embassy (in my case should be an email) before scheduling the interview?

Removal of Conditions (I-751)

Can anyone confirm the above? I didn't receive Packet 3 yet, but my case is "ready" should I submit DS-160 or wait till I receive the "packet"? Thank you!

Hi stag!

I filled out my DS 160 when NVC sent the case to the embassy, or a week before the case was received by the embassy.

You want to wait until the consulate has the file.  Rarely do files either get delayed or sent to the wrong consulate.  When you schedule the consulate you also need to schedule medical.  Medical does expire and thereby limits the length of time you can travel on the visa.
