Hi all, hope you guys are having a nice weekend

I’ve received a rfie letter and indicated that my spouse’s assets are not qualified to sponsor me for GC and joint sponsor is needed to fulfil the income requirement. The rfie letter says to include I864 from joint sponsor but I want to know if I-864A or other forms are also need to be included in order to respond the rfie?

It is my understanding that assets are counted that are not current in use.  Such as you cannot count the value of your home if that is your only home and you living in it.  Someone else can chime in and inform

An I-864A would be needed if the joint sponsor is a qualifying relative (spouse, adult child, parent, or sibling) that lives in the same household as the main sponsor and contributes to the total income.

If the joint sponsor qualifies on their own for their own household size plus the immigrant, then they just need to fill out their own I-864 and provide their supporting documentation. If they are married and their spouse's income is needed to meet the sponsorship requirements, then their spouse can fill out an I-864A to go along with the joint sponsor's I-864.
